Review: Our Cousins, Whom We Do Not Use As Directed by Claire Humphrey

Review of Our Cousins, Whom We Do Not Use As Directed by Claire Humphrey (906 words)

Flash Fiction Online, February 2019 : Purchase or Read Online

A "we" narrative, i.e. first person plural, which is not a common choice.
The unnamed narrator is part of a close-knit group, a family. They slowly lose members of their tribe, who are turned into objects, but aren't objects.

Lovely prose and vivid descriptions, but what I enjoyed most was that they come full circle, going back to their traveler roots, while still respectfully honoring their cousins.

I would have liked to know more about who We are, but this is flash after all.
